Kimberly Ann Boudoir FAQ
If you have burning questions about the boudoir experience, this Kimberly Ann Boudoir FAQ will probably resolve most of them for you. I invite you to take a read through this FAQ before you book your Sacramento boudoir session or Humboldt County boudoir session with me!
What Is Boudoir Photography?
Boudoir photography is a type of photography that focuses on the intimate beauty of a woman through strategic poses based on her body type and personality. Many women are motivated to book a boudoir session so they can gift their boudoir photos to their special someone, but they soon find out that the experience is as much for them as it would be for anyone else.
Boudoir photography captures and accentuates the assets that make you feel most beautiful. My boudoir philosophy is “less is more” and I love highlighting your natural beauty in your boudoir session. Each session is customized to suit your personality and style, so when you receive your professional boudoir photos you feel like they reflect who you truly are.
Is A Boudoir Session Right For Me?
A hundred times, YES! Every woman is an absolutely gorgeous piece of art and deserves an experience that allows them to see themselves as the incredible badass they truly are. Some of my most memorable boudoir sessions have been with women who never thought they would get boudoir photos, but they ended up having a profoundly transformative and life-changing experience throughout the session.
Your boudoir session is a safe space where you can be vulnerable, accepting, and loving towards yourself. The Kimberly Ann Boudoir experience will leave you feeling beautiful, strong, sexy, and empowered. As you should, you sexy thing, you!
What Should I Wear For My Boudoir Photoshoot?
There’s no shortage of boudoir wardrobe ideas, and the best boudoir outfit will vary from woman to woman. If you don’t have a specific look or idea in mind, I will help you decide on a wardrobe for your boudoir session during your personal consultation.
When you arrive at your boudoir session, you will also have access to my entire boudoir wardrobe, including bras, corsets, and dresses. I recommend you also bring black panties, a matching bra and panty set, a stretchy v-neck t-shirt, and a robe. You can even bring your significant other’s shirt, if that’s something you want to do. Feel free to let your imagination run wild when it comes to your boudoir outfits. I always tell my clients that as long as you feel comfortable enough to embrace your sexy and sensual side in it, it’s a great choice.
Will Other People Be Able To See My Boudoir Photos?
Shortly after your session, I’ll send you a group of images. At that time, I will ask you which ones you feel comfortable with me sharing on my Kimberly Ann Facebook page, my website, or on other marketing materials. You may also choose more ambiguous images where your face is not clearly visible if that best suits your comfort level.
Who Will Be At My Boudoir Session?
Just you and me, unless you book a boudoir party. If you are feeling nervous and need the extra encouragement, you can invite your closest friend.
Is Hair And Makeup Included In My Boudoir Session?
I do not include hair and makeup in your boudoir photoshoot, and for good reason. I want you to see how beautiful you are every day. I don’t want you to look back at your photos and say “Dang, I look good. If only I looked like that every day.”
That is not my game. I want you to look at your photos and think, “I am BEAUTIFUL. I am SEXY. I am STRONG. I am POWERFUL.” I want you to see you how I see you: As a beautiful, strong, kickass chick who doesn’t NEED to be made over.
If you feel more confident and sexy when you have your hair and makeup professionally done, you go girl. Just know this is not a requirement. You will look HOT no matter what. If you’re looking for recommendations on great stylists, let me know and I’d be happy to connect you with some of my favorites.
Do I Need To Do Anything Special To Prepare For My Boudoir Photoshoot?
You may want to do a little preparation for your shoot, but what that looks like depends on you. I want you to feel comfortable during your boudoir session, and if that means you want to get a Brazilian wax and a pedicure, go for it. If you’re happy simply showering in advance, more power to you.
Here are a couple extra pro tips for preparing for your boudoir session:
- Do wear loose fitting clothes and undergarments the day of your session. No one likes those pesky skin lines and indents from clothing.
- Don’t use self tanner. You will look orange in pictures, and you will stain my bedspread. Me no likey stains.
- Don’t drink half a bottle of wine to calm your nerves. Your face will get flushed and your eyes will be glassy. Trust me….just don’t.
When Will I Get To See My Photos?
After your session, I will contact you to schedule your private 1:1 reveal session. You will come back to the studio, sip on a mimosa, and view each and every image of your beautiful self. I really enjoy this part of the process, and I hope you do too.
Your boudoir reveal session is the perfect time to explore all the product options you have available for purchase. Based upon your choices, your products will be designed, and the order will go through once your final invoice is paid in full.
